QRO recently hosted many unexpected visitors – a 50,000 strong swarm of honeybees which decided the external wall of the QRO office was the perfect spot to build their hive and set-up a colony.
Usually, QRO take pride in offering a warm welcome to all visitors, however on this occasion help was sought from Northants Beekeeping Association to remove the honeybees from the premises to a more suitable environment.
Northants Beekeeping Association are a collective of beekeepers who volunteer their time and expertise to safely and efficiently re-home honeybees, who are instrumental pollinators. To show appreciation and to help ensure this local voluntary service can continue QRO donated £100 to Northants Beekeeping Association.
