January
2008 has seen QRO launch the 1st edition of its exciting newsletter ‘ANPR
News’ which has been sent to selected members of the Police Force and ANPR
community.
The
1st edition includes an article about QRO’s successful work with
Central Motorway Police Group equipping their vehicles with the most up to date
ANPR systems. Also in this edition is coverage of the pilot scheme commissioned
by Transport Scotland and
implemented by Amey Highway,
using ANPR to monitor and deter dangerous driving behaviour, currently putting
those working on the road network in Scotland at risk of injury and death
The
newsletter will be published three times during 2008 and aims to better inform
the ANPR community of advances in the development of ANPR technology and
highlight the many different ways in which it can now be deployed and utilised.
QRO look forward to publishing edition 2, planned for May 2008.
